Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.

Surviving the Catastrophe

Two days ago, Huai Yue, Jean and I started to work with a new found friend, Adelind. Despite meeting for the first time, we talked like we have known one another since decades ago. With Kean Yew, the five of us enjoyed ourselves although the sales remained poor.

Initially, Huai Yue and I were motivated to work harder upon hearing Bobby's plan of expanding Tortoiz. Yet nothing seemed to go our way the moment we started. It is not about the fear of rejections, but the fact that no one even bothered to stop and listen.

Some people could brutally claim that they were rushing for time, only to be seen standing at the same spot for the next fifteen odd minutes, which by then I could have finished the same old speech three times. If they were simply not interested, they could have just said so.

Oh well, that's life, isn't it? Either I get a chance, or I don't. Most importantly, I should make full use of the chances if given any. :)

After work ended, I went to look for Sister to watch 2012.

While watching, I was left with full of thoughts. For example, if catastrophe really struck, and I happened to survive, what would my survival contribute to the world? That was then that I found myself equally useless and helpless as compared to a one-year-old baby.

As usual, Sister find the pilot hot and was upset upon his death in the show. -_-

Eight Minutes

The heel of my feet are aching badly due to the long and tedious walk.

With Huai Yue, Wee Xin, Jean and Shi Li, the five of us went for job huntings and interviews today. While waiting for certain replies, which seem assuring to a certain extent, some of us might probably get the temporary job recommended first. If so, I hope all goes well. :)

Aries:
When dealing with other people today, listen to their ranting and raving with an open mind. Not everyone around you will be able to agree on the right way to go about doing things -- luckily you should find all this bickering quite amusing! Let them vent their frustrations without offering up your own opinion. Amid all the griping, you might find a creative solution to a vexing issue. Aren't you glad you stuck around for this?

Towards a New Chapter

By tanhuimin · November 16, 2009 · 0 Comments · 5 Views

In the blink of an eye, four years will soon be over. Just yesterday, or so it seems, I set foot into Shuqun Secondary School as a shy thirteen-year-old girl initially. Today, I have officially graduated from the school.

Thinking back, everyone has grown and matured so much in one way or another. Be it the way we think or just simply our attitude. I am sure teachers who have witnessed us grow would agree.

In fact, I feel that I have matured over the four years of secondary school life too. Although I may still be childish and temperamental, undeniably even self-centered at times, my attitude has definitely improved over the years.

For example, I used to think that only my thoughts and feelings were important. Whatever else did not actually matter. Hence I would talk without thinking, even sprouting nonsense proudly. Now, however, things are different. Whenever I make comments, I would make sure no harm was created, or if inevitable, the minimum possible. As a matter of fact, I still think twice as the words were about to slip off my mouth.

Anyone who have interacted with me before will know. I was rude, straightforward and terribly ignorant of how my comments would hurt. Maybe I still posses a little of everything in the mean time, yet I am sure improvements have been obvious so far.

Technically speaking, if it was not for the teachers, these changes would not even have taken place. Who would have find fault in our own actions unless otherwise mentioned? Even so, we may not be happy or fully accepting about it. Therefore, I reckon the teachers deserve the gratitude for all their hard work in disciplining us. Thank you very much! :)

Despite the graduation ceremony being a simple one, it was meaningful so to speak. The Valedictorian's speech was good and the video was well done too. All in all, the event was great. :)

I am looking forward to the class outing next Wednesday! ♥
